Reading - Bulmershe Park
Woodlands Avenue : RG5 3EU
Bulmershe was a manor house quite close to Palmer Park and was the home of Captain J St Lawrence Wheble. The Reading Mercury dated September 5th 1903 reported on the first Berkshire Constabulary Sports at Bulmershe Park which saw between eight and ten thousand spectators attend with 300 entries for the sports. There were two bicycle races, a one mile scratch race for riders under 30 years of age and a further one mile race for over 30 years olds.
It does not appear that the park was used again for any sports meetings.
